Studying is everyone priority. Books play a very importance sources, and it is involved with student from kindergarten to high education. Some books are thick and some are thin depend on it's content. In order to carry the book from home to school, we need schoolbag. Now a day schoolbags are designed to many different kind of fashion. So choosing the schoolbag you like is your choice, The problem is the weight that you will put in it after buying. One of the reason that children do not want to go school is because of their heavy schoolbag that they have to carry it everyday from home to school and from school back home. what will happen to your children if they keep carrying those heavy schoolbag? And what should they do? Carrying heavy schoolbag make you suffer in both immediate and long term.
Carrying heavy schoolbag can lead children to muscle and skeleton problem. Especially when children put it on only one shoulder. It put extra pressure on one side and It hurt the spine. According to doctors, they said putting the bag down and then carrying it again is even more dangerous for children's growing spine than walking in a static weight.
The immediate ill-effect to people or children who carrying heavy schoolbag are:Back, neck and shoulder pain along with tingling, numbness and weakness in the hands.and an early development of poor posture.
The long term ill are :Strain on the neck and shoulder leading to headaches.
Damage to the spine giving rise to problems like kyphosis – hunched back or spine bent forward.
Scoliosis – spine bent sideways.
Reduced breathing capacity due to pressure on the lungs resulting from a forward or sideways bent posture.
Back pains and muscle spasms as young adults which can be traced back to heavy schoolbags.
Every bone has a growth centre or points from which growth of the bone takes place as per the age. Carrying excess weight could damage these growth centres leading to stunted or abnormal growth of the bones of the child.
To sum up, Parents should warn their children not to carry heavy schoolbag.the maximum weight a child should carry is one tenth (10%) of their body weight including all things like their water bottle, lunchbox, etc.You should choose the schoolbag that you can put the pressure on both of your shoulder, and take a proper way when you carry it.
